Another Serious Post About Sex. This is no Laughing Matter.

This story disturbed me to my core. I don’t have anything to say about this. I just can’t believe that attitudes like these still exist in the modern world. I don’t really have it in me right now to go in depth about the issues of rape and the law.  Below is a video that I saw.  Watch it for yourself and let me know what you think about this particular issue.  Maybe with enough discussion I can find the energy to really write about it.

A serious post about sexuality

I was recently made aware of a woman named Gretchen Molannen, who committed suicide due to a sexual disorder. Gretchen suffered from a disorder known as persistent genital arousal disorder (PGAD). This disorder is described as, “a spontaneous, persistent, and uncontrollable genital arousal in women, with or without orgasm or genital engorgement, unrelated to any feelings of sexual desire.”

This disorder causes women who have the disorder to feel constantly aroused. While this may seem like a positive to many people, it is described as a living hell by individuals who suffer from it.

Since I have been writing about human sexuality on this blog, I felt an obligation to point out how serious the study of human sexuality can be.  This woman suffered from a relatively unknown and unstudied disorder that caused her untold emotional and physical pain, which led her to suicide.

I will continue my fetish study as planed, I’m currently talking to individuals who are part of the fetish communities that I plan to write about so that I can deliver the best content I can.  However, I wanted to write about this case to show that our society needs to put aside our judgments about sex and sexuality; because in the end, we need to know about our sexuality so that we can advance as a society and so that people like Gretchen do not have to suffer.

This is Gretchen Molannen breaking down during an interview. Her story shows us why we need to get over our discomfort with sex and seriously look at the subject matter.
